Schools will remain closed from 1 to 15 January
According to the order issued, there will be winter vacation in all the schools of Haryana from January 1, 2026 to January 15, 2026. After this, schools will reopen regularly from January 16, 2026. This order will be equally applicable to all government and recognized schools in the state.
Instructions to all school heads for strict compliance
In the letter issued by the Directorate of School Education, it has been clarified that this order will be applicable to all the school heads and in-charge officers of the state. The Education Department has instructed all the concerned officers to ensure strict compliance with the orders in their subordinate schools, so that there is no confusion or negligence anywhere.

Practical examinations will be held instead of normal classes.
Normal classes will not be conducted during winter vacations. But, as per the rules of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), ICSE Board and other boards, students of class 10th and 12th can be called to school for practical examinations as per the prescribed schedule. For this, it will be mandatory for schools to follow the guidelines issued by the concerned board.

Decision taken in view of increasing severity of cold
According to the Education Department, this decision has been taken keeping in mind the increasing cold in the state. The aim of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s government is to ensure the health and safety of the students, so that children do not face problems in traveling to school in extreme cold.

Copy of order sent to all officers
This order has been issued by the Director of Secondary Education Haryana, Panchkula on behalf of the Assistant Director (Academic). A copy of the order has been sent to all concerned officials, so that information reaches all the schools in time and there is no confusion at any level.
