Depot ready to operate at full capacity

Regular operation of electric buses will be started from these depots within the next three months. The government’s aim is not just to run buses, but to strengthen the entire charging ecosystem, so that the system remains sustainable in the long run.

Plan to develop model at state level

The focus of CM Nayab Singh Saini’s government is not limited to any one city. Minister Anil Vij clarified that the electric bus project is being developed as a model at the state level. This will reduce urban traffic pressure and will also make a concrete contribution to pollution control.

Electric buses will increase in roadways fleet

Haryana Government aims to include more and more electric buses in the roadways fleet in the coming time. Electric buses will not only make public transport more attractive but will also reduce dependence on private vehicles, thereby controlling both traffic and pollution.

Charging station is the biggest challenge

Energy Minister Anil Vij admitted that the biggest challenge in the expansion of electric vehicles is the lack of charging stations. He said that even though electric cars and buses have arrived, the number of charging stations is still not as per the requirement. Charging stations on highways and major routes are essential during long distance travel.

Not just plug point, facilities are also important

The minister suggested the vehicle manufacturing companies that charging stations should not be limited to just plug points. When a vehicle takes one to two hours to charge, facilities like toilets, rest areas, restaurants and refreshments should also be available to the passengers during that time. Just making charging points at petrol pumps will not solve the problem.
