Haryana Police Vacancy: The new year 2026 has brought a big relief and new hope for the youth of Haryana. Haryana Government has given a big employment gift on the very first day of the year to lakhs of youth who have been waiting for government jobs for a long time. Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has released the advertisement for recruitment to 5500 constable posts in Haryana Police Department, which is considered to be one of the biggest recruitments of the new year.

Headlines:

This recruitment will not only provide employment opportunities to the youth, but will also play an important role in strengthening the law and order of the state. The entire recruitment process will be under Common Eligibility Test (CET) Group-C and no application fee will be charged from any category of candidates. With this, youth from economically weaker and rural backgrounds will also get equal opportunities.

In this recruitment, a total of 5500 posts have been classified into three categories which include 4500 Male Constable (General Duty), 600 Female Constable (General Duty) and 400 Male Constable (Government Railway Police). These posts are divided into different categories under the reservation policy of the state government, so that all sections can get representation.

An important step towards women empowerment:

600 women constable posts have been included in this recruitment, which is being considered an important step towards women empowerment. This will strengthen both the participation and role of women in the police force. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has already announced to increase the number of women in the police department to 25 percent.

Application Process and Dates:

Applications for this recruitment will start from 11 January 2026, and the last date is 25 January 2026 (11:59 PM). Candidates who had previously applied under Advertisement No. 14/2024 will have to make fresh applications this time as old applications will not be accepted.

Eligibility Criteria:

The educational qualification for the post of constable has been prescribed as 10+2 (12th) pass. It is mandatory for the candidate to have knowledge of Hindi or Sanskrit till matriculation. The Commission has clarified that no additional marks will be given for higher education, so that all eligible candidates get equal opportunity.

Age Limit and Relaxation:

The age limit for general category has been fixed at 18 to 25 years (as on January 1, 2026). Age relaxation of 5 years will be given to Scheduled Caste, Backward Class and EWS category. Ex-servicemen will get special relaxation under police rules.

Selection Process:

The recruitment process will be done in several phases. In the first phase, there will be Physical Measurement Test (PMT), in which it will be mandatory for male constable to have minimum height of 170 cm and chest of 83 cm (including expansion). The minimum height for female constable will be 158 cm.

In the second phase, there will be Physical Screening Test (PST), in which for male constables, 2.5 km run will have to be completed in 12 minutes and for female constables, 1 km run will have to be completed in 6 minutes.

Then, there will be a written examination, which will be objective based and will have 97 percent weightage. OMR based examination will be in both Hindi and English medium.

Strictness on documents and reservation:

It will be mandatory to upload all the required documents while applying. Only valid certificates will be valid for reserved category candidates, and applications may be canceled if wrong or old certificates are found.
