Holidays announced in schools of this state, know how long they will remain closed
School Holidays: In view of the increasing severity of cold and fog, the Haryana government has declared winter vacation in all government and private schools of the state. According to the order issued by the Education Department, schools will remain closed from January 1, 2026 to January 15, 2026. After this, all schools will reopen normally from January 16, 2026. The purpose of this decision is to give priority to the health and safety of children.
Separate arrangement for board classes
However, with the announcement of holidays, the Education Department has also made it clear that students of class 10th and 12th will not get complete exemption. Keeping the board examinations in mind, students of these classes can be called to school for practical examinations if needed. This system will be implemented as per the guidelines of CBSE, ICSE and other boards. Students have been advised to keep an eye on the information received from the school administration.
Four consecutive days off after Christmas
Students are going to get relief even before winter vacations. Christmas holiday in Haryana is already fixed on 25th December. after this
– 26 December: Shaheed Udham Singh Jayanti
– 27 December: Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti
– December 28: Sunday
In this way, schools will remain closed for four consecutive days from 25th to 28th December. This will prove to be a long break for the children at the beginning of winter.
Meteorological Department’s cold wave alert
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of cold wave and dense fog in many districts of Haryana like Sirsa, Rohtak, Hisar and surrounding areas. At many places the minimum temperature has fallen by 4 to 7 degrees Celsius. Visibility is extremely low due to dense fog in the morning, which has increased the risk of traveling on the road and school.
School timings have already been changed
It is noteworthy that Haryana Government had given instructions some time back to change the timing of schools to start late in the morning. Its purpose was to protect children from the harsh cold. Now, in view of the cold and foggy conditions, the government has given further relief to parents and students by taking the decision of holidays.
Relief to students and parents
Overall, this decision is an attempt to balance the safety, health and studies of the students. Children will get rest from long holidays, while studies in board classes will also be continued in a controlled manner.
