Haryana Assembly Election Results: In the trends of counting of votes released on Tuesday for the assembly elections in Haryana, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has crossed the majority mark and is ahead on 50 seats while Congress is ahead on 35 seats. This information has been obtained from the latest data available on the website of the Election Commission. Among the prominent candidates, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Congress leader Bhupendra Singh Hooda, Vinesh Phogat, Uday Bhan, independent candidate Savitri Jindal are ahead on their respective seats.

Senior BJP leader Anil Vij, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD)'s Abhay Singh Chautala and Jannayak Janata Party (JJP)'s Dushyant Chautala are lagging behind in their respective seats. According to the data available with the Election Commission at around 12.30 pm, BJP is leading in 49 seats and Congress is leading in 35 seats. Independent candidates are ahead on four seats while INLD and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are ahead on one seat each.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is nowhere to be seen in the contest right now. Chief Minister Saini, who is contesting from Ladwa seat in Kurukshetra, is ahead of his Congress rival and sitting MLA Mewa Singh by a margin of 9,632 votes. Former Chief Minister Hooda, who is contesting re-election from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi seat, has a huge lead of 41,077 votes over BJP's Manju Hooda. Congress' Vinesh Phogat is ahead of her BJP rival Yogesh Kumar by 4,130 votes from Julana assembly seat in Jind district. The BJP has 41 MLAs in the outgoing assembly (which includes the Adampur seat won in the 2022 by-election), while the Congress has 28 and the JJP has six. Haryana Lokhit Party and INLD have one member each. There are four independents while nine seats are vacant.

According to the latest data of the Election Commission, INLD leader and sitting MLA from Ellenabad Abhay Singh Chautala is behind Congress candidate Bharat Singh Bainiwal by 7,710 votes. Abhay's son and INLD candidate Arjun Chautala is ahead of his grandfather and independent candidate Ranjit Chautala in Rania seat by a margin of 6,161 votes. From Uchana Kalan seat, Congress's Brajendra Singh is ahead of his nearest rival and BJP candidate Devendra Attri by 3,236 votes while sitting MLA and JJP leader Dushyant Chautala is lagging behind.

Among independent candidates, Savitri Jindal, mother of BJP MP from Kurukshetra Naveen Jindal, is ahead of her nearest rival Ram Niwas Rada of Congress from Hisar seat by a margin of 3,836 votes. BJP MLA Kamal Gupta has lagged behind from Hisar. From Ambala Cantonment, senior BJP leader and former minister Anil Vij is trailing independent candidate Chitra Sarwara by a slight margin of 671 votes. Other independent candidates who are leading include Devendra Kadian (rebel BJP leader) from Ganaur and Rajesh June (rebel Congress leader) from Bahadurgarh. Attar Lal of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is ahead of his rival Aarti Singh Rao of BJP in Ateli seat by a margin of 5,424 votes. Aarti is the daughter of Union Minister and BJP MP from Gurugram Rao Inderjit Singh.

BSP had contested the elections in alliance with INLD. Other prominent candidates leading from their respective seats include BJP's Rao Narbir Singh from Badshahpur, Bhavya Bishnoi from Adampur, Mool Chand Sharma from Ballabhgarh, Ranbir Gangwa from Barwala and Vipul Goyal from Faridabad. Harvinder Kalyan from Gharaunda, Mukesh Sharma from Gurgaon, Krishna Lal Panwar from Israna, Gyan Chand Gupta from Panchkula, Subhash Sudha from Thanesar, Mahipal Dhanda from Panipat Rural and Shruti Chaudhary from Tosham are leading.

Other Congress candidates leading on their seats include Aditya Surjewala from Kaithal, Brajendra Singh from Uchana Kalan, BB Batra from Rohtak, Geeta Bhukkal from Jhajjar, Raghuveer Singh Kadian from Beri and Rao Dan Singh from Mahendragarh. Mamman Khan has taken the lead from Firozpur Jhirka and Mohammad Ilyas from Punhana. BJP wants to form the government by winning the state assembly elections for the third consecutive time, while Congress hopes to return to power in the state after 10 years. Many 'exit polls' (pre-result surveys) predicted Congress's victory in Haryana. A total of 67.90 percent voting was recorded in the state. BJP has claimed that it will return to power in the state for the third consecutive time. BJP formed the government in 2019 with the help of JJP. (with agency input)
