Haryana Weather: Severe cold increases in Haryana, yellow fog alert issued in 8 districts
Haryana Weather: The north-westerly cold winds blowing from the mountains to the plains have suddenly increased the cold in Haryana. Especially in the northern and south-eastern districts of the state, extreme cold is being felt. In many areas the day temperature has reached below 15 degrees Celsius. Due to less difference in day and night temperatures, the effect of cold has increased further.
Yellow alert of fog in 8 districts
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted further drop in temperature in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding fog in Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Gurugram, Rohtak, Jhajjar and Faridabad.

A difference of only 4.1 degrees Celsius was recorded between day and night temperatures in Panipat. The maximum temperature in 7 districts of the state remained below 17 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, cold day like conditions prevailed throughout the day in 7 cities including Faridabad, Gurugram, Kaithal, Karnal, Nuh and Panipat.
Dense fog in many districts
Fog started appearing in Bhiwani and Sonipat since night, while the first fog of the season was seen in Narnaul and Mahendragarh. There was dense fog in Fatehabad and Gurugram also in the morning. The effect of winter increased further due to cold winds in Hisar.

In view of the fog, the traffic police has issued an advisory. Drivers have been advised to drive slowly, use fog lights or low-beam headlights and maintain a safe distance. An appeal has been made to avoid unnecessary overtaking, use of mobile phones and parking of vehicles on main roads.

Rail and road traffic has also been affected due to dense fog. Many express trains are running late by hours. Many long distance trains including Malwa Express, Gorakhdham Express have been delayed. At the same time, Roadways has canceled many buses running at night and early morning from the depot itself. The Transport Department has given instructions to keep the maximum speed of buses at 60 kilometers per hour.
Cloudy till 22nd December, cold will increase again from 23rd
According to Dr. Madan Khichad, Head of the Agricultural Meteorological Department of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, the weather in Haryana may remain changeable till December 24. Another Western Disturbance will be active from December 20, due to which partial effect will keep most parts of the state cloudy from the night of December 20 to December 22. There is also a possibility of light drizzle in some areas of North Haryana.
During this period, there may be a slight drop in day temperature and a slight increase in night temperature. Due to increase in humidity, there is a possibility of fog in the morning. However, from December 23, once again due to north and north-west cold winds, a drop in temperature may be recorded, especially at night.
