Haryana Winter Vacation: Schools will remain closed in Haryana from January 1 to 15, education department issued orders.

Haryana Winter Vacation: In view of the increasing cold in the state, the Haryana government has declared winter vacation in all government and recognized schools. Official orders in this regard have been issued by the Directorate of Secondary Education. According to the order, there will be winter vacation from January 1, 2026 to January 15, 2026 for classes 1 to 12 in all the schools of the state. Schools will reopen regularly from 16 January 2026 (Friday).

In the letter issued by the Education Department, it has been clarified that this order will be applicable to all the school heads and in-charges of the state. The department has instructed the officials to ensure strict compliance of these orders in their subordinate schools.

Normal classes will remain closed

The order states that normal classes will not be conducted during winter vacations. However, as per the rules of CBSE, ICSE and other boards, students of class 10th and 12th can be called to school for practical examinations as per the prescribed schedule. For this, it will be mandatory for the concerned schools to follow the guidelines issued by the board.

Decision taken in view of cold

The Education Department said that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the health and safety of the students. Its main objective is to provide relief to children from the problems they face in commuting to school due to continuously falling temperatures and increasing effects of cold.

Copy sent to all officers

This order has been issued by the Director of Secondary Education, Haryana (Panchkula) on behalf of the Assistant Director (Academic). A copy of the order has been sent to all concerned officials, so that this information can be given to the schools in time and no confusion is created.
