Shami's team lost in Vijay Hazare Trophy, Haryana team reached quarterfinals.

Sports Desk: In the pre-quarterfinal match of Vijay Hazare Tournament organized by BCCI, Haryana entered the quarterfinals by defeating Bengal by 72 runs. Haryana scored 298 runs while playing first. In reply, Bengal team was reduced to 226 and lost the match by 72 runs. After this defeat, Mohammed Shami's team was out of the tournament.

In the pre-quarterfinal match played in Vadodara, the Bengal team decided to bowl first. Haryana team, who came to bat first, had a good start. The openers made a partnership of 48 runs for the first wicket. Arsh Ranga played an inning of 23 runs and H Rana played an inning of 14 runs. After that captain Ankit Kumar left after scoring 18 runs. After three wickets, Perth Vats and Nishant Sindhu took over the innings again and started scoring runs. Perth Vats scored 62 and Nishant Sindhu scored 64 runs. There was a partnership of 84 runs between the two.

Apart from that, Rahul Tewatia scored 29 runs, Dinesh Bana scored 15 runs, SP Kumar scored 41 unbeaten runs. While bowling for Bengal, Mohammed Shami took 3 wickets for 61 runs, Mukesh Kumar took 2 wickets for 46 runs, Sayan Ghosh took 1 wicket for 45 runs, Kaushik Maiti took 1 wicket and Karan Lal took 1 wicket.

In reply, the Bengal team, which was chasing 299 runs, was limited to 226 runs only. Bengal had a good start. But after the initial shock, wickets kept falling continuously. Due to this reason Bengal had to face defeat by 72 runs. Sudeep Kumar Gharami scored 36, Abhimanyu Easwaran scored 10, Anustup Majumdar scored 36, Sudeep Chatterjee scored 14, Karan Lal scored 28 runs. Abhishek Porel scored the most runs for Bengal. Abhishek Porel scored 57 runs. In the end Mukesh Kumar remained unbeaten after scoring 13 runs.

Anshul Kamboj bowled brilliantly for Haryana and took 2 wickets for 25 runs in 7.1 overs. While Aman Kumar took 1 wicket, SP Kumar took 1 wicket, Rana took 1 wicket, Nishant Sindhu took 2 wickets and Perth Vats took 3 wickets. Perth was awarded the Man of the Match award for his all-round performance.
