‘Has to focus on work ethic’: Shreyas Iyer shares valuable advice for Prithvi Shaw
Out-of-favour batter Prithvi Shaw’s career has so far been filled with off-field controversies, and this has seen him fall down the pecking order in both the Indian team and the Mumbai team.
The player also went unsold at the IPL 2025 mega auction last year, following his release by the Delhi Capitals. With Shaw trying to somehow revive his career, former teammate Shreyas Iyer has shared a valuable piece of advice for the 25-year-old.
Iyer believes that Shaw needs to focus on fitness and everything will fall in place for him as everyone has seen his potential as a batter.
“Prithvi Shaw also started on a great note. He’s got a great blessing of timing the ball and scoring runs at a great pace. And all of us in the team feel that he is blessed with that phenomenal talent. So, he just has to focus on his work ethic and everything else will follow,” Iyer told The Indian Express.
Shaw last featured for the Mumbai cricket team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he was dropped mid-tournament. He didn’t feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and it is highly unlikely that he will be seen in action in the upcoming rounds of the Ranji Trophy as well.
