The destination is Gariaband district of Chhattisgarh. The very ancient Gupteswara Mahadev temple is hidden in the lap of hills and dense forests. It is not only a spiritual center for devotees but also a mystical place for travelers. Locals claim that after removing the chains from the heavy doors of the temple at night, when the surroundings are almost quiet, the distinct sound of the bell comes from the premises.
The importance of this word to devotees is immense. They believe that this meeting is the divine presence of Mahadev. According to scriptures, the sacred sound of this bell calms the mind by removing all the negative energies around. According to astrologers and scholars, the spiritual energy accumulated in this ancient shrine has a profound effect on the minds of devotees. Science’s explanation, however, is different. According to a group of researchers, strong winds in mountainous regions or metal vibrations can create such bell-like illusions. However, there is no irrefutable scientific evidence for this yet.
