Meanwhile, Pakistani singer Hasan Jahangir revealed that he was given $50,000 (approximately Rs 46 lakh) to use his 40-year-old hit song Hawa Hawa Ka in the first part of the film.

Hasan Jahangir told the fees and permission

Recently, in a conversation on Nida Yasir’s show Shaan-e-Sahoor, Hasan Jahangir told that his song has recently been used in a Rs 100 crore film. Jahangir was obviously talking about the film Dhurandhar.

When he was asked whether he got money for using the song or not, he said- ‘Yes, the makers gave me 50,000 dollars. Gave money and also took permission to use the song.

Copyright and old songs issue

Regarding song copyright and permission, Hasan said that earlier there was no such system. He told- ‘Earlier there was no copyright system. But now whoever uses my songs, first takes permission and also pays money. ‘Hawa Hawa’ is a 40 year old song. I recorded it in 1986 and launched it in 1987.

It is clear that old hit songs are now used with full legal procedure and the artists get proper respect and fees.
