HCL Technologies up 1.1%, TCS up 0.1%, IT stocks buck market decline
IT stocks emerged as the top gainers among Nifty 50 constituents in midday trade on April 2, even as broader indices continued to trade lower during the session.
As of 12:05 PM, the Nifty 50 was down 1.81% at 22,268.10, the Sensex was down 1.82% at 71,804.14, the Bank Nifty was down 2.55% at 50,135.05, and the Midcap Nifty was down 2.22% at 12,183.50.
Against this backdrop, all four of the top gainers in the Nifty 50 were from the information technology sector. HCL Technologies was the top gainer, trading at ₹1,369.10, up 1.1% during the session. Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories followed, trading at ₹1,212.60, up 0.3%. Wipro was up 0.2% at ₹191.50, while Tata Consultancy Services gained 0.1% to trade at ₹2,409.70.
