Mumbai, April 21, 2026: HDFC Life Insurance Company Limited has taken an important decision and approved the re-appointment of Ms. Vibha Padalkar as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This decision was taken in the meeting held on April 21 by the Board of Directors.
This reappointment will be effective from September 12, 2026 and will be for the next five years. However, this decision will require shareholder approval and approval from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
Vibha Padalkar has been associated with HDFC Life since 2008 and has held various leadership positions. Under his leadership, the company has achieved consistent performance with special emphasis on strategic planning, disciplined execution and sustainable growth.

He was instrumental in the successful IPO of HDFC Life in 2017. He also led the company in the first merger and acquisition process in the Indian life insurance sector.
Padalkar has been active in various ventures in the industry and has won many national and international honors. It includes various prestigious awards including ‘Businesswoman of the Year’.
Meanwhile, the company has clarified that there is no ban on Ms. Padalkar from holding the post of director by any regulatory body. The meeting of the Board of Directors started at 7.20 pm and ended at 7.40 pm.
