Ambesh Kumar alias Rinku (36), a resident of Ahmedpur village of Jafrabad police station area of Jaunpur district, had killed his mother Babita (60) and father Shyamlal (62) by attacking them with a mortar on the night of 8 December. After this he cut the parents’ body into three pieces with a saw. During police interrogation, accused Ambesh Kumar told that father Shyamlal was screaming after seeing mother Babita being cut with a saw in front of his own eyes. On this, father’s neck was tied with a rope. Due to this his breathing had stopped. Then the pieces of dead bodies were filled in six plastic bags and thrown at different places in Sai and Gomti rivers.

Ambesh Kumar is the only son of his family. After doing B.Tech, he used to work in Kolkata. Had a love marriage with a Muslim woman. His wife runs a beauty parlor in Kolkata. He also has two children. Among these, the daughter is four years old and the son is one and a half years old.

The deceased couple were originally residents of Tadwa Khargsenpur village under Kerakat police station, who lived in their in-laws’ house in Ahmedpur village of Zafarabad police station area. According to people associated with the family, after marriage, Ambesh’s behavior completely changed towards his mother Babita, father Shyam Bahadur and the family. Whenever he came home, he would often fight with his parents over money and property.
Area Officer City Goldy Gupta said that the police have registered a case in Zafarabad police station and arrested the accused and are taking legal action.
