“He will have to convince people that he is dedicated and disciplined”: Aakash Chopra gives important suggestion to discarded Indian player
Aakash Chopra has given his viewpoint on the career of Prithvi Shaw, who has fallen out of favour in IPL and domestic cricket. He was recently left out of the Mumbai squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Earlier, he went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction and was removed from Mumba’s Ranji Trophy team.
“He doesn’t have an IPL contract and will not play for Mumbai in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He is not scoring runs, and his career is on a slippery mode. You feel for him,’ he said.
“There have bene reports that he was taking cricket for granted and was not working hard. Even if 25 percent of that is true, it is still a big concern. It takes a lifetime to build a reputation and a moment to spoil it,” he added. Aakash mentioned that Prithvi Shaw will have to prove that he is disciplined and dedicated.
“His reputation has ben spoiled. He will have to work hard and prove that he is dedicated and disciplined and want to play cricket.” Chopra concluded that Shaw would need help from someone to guide him.
Former players Ricky Ponting and Praveen Amre, who were associated with Delhi Capitals, accused Shaw of not following the instructions of the team management.
