On Wednesday, terrorists attacked the police team deployed for the security of Amarnath Yatra in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir. Head constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi was martyred in this terrorist attack. After the incident, high alert has been declared in the entire Anantnag city. Security agencies have cordoned off the area and started a large-scale search operation to search for the terrorists.
At around 12:30 pm on Wednesday, terrorists suddenly attacked the police team in Lal Chowk area of Anantnag. At that time the policemen were deployed on security duty of Amarnath Yatra. According to officials, the suspected terrorists suddenly started firing, in which head constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi was shot. In a critical condition, he was immediately taken to the Government Medical College Hospital, Anantnag, but the doctors could not save him and declared him dead.

Were deployed in the security of Amarnath Yatra
Martyred head constable Ashiq Hussain Qureshi was a resident of Beerwah area of Budgam district of central Kashmir. He was posted in the 3rd battalion of the India Reserve Police (IRP) and was performing security duties of the Amarnath Yatra. After his martyrdom, the police and security forces have sealed the entire area. Officials say that a search operation is being conducted on all possible routes to nab the attackers.
TRF took responsibility of the attack
According to initial information, The Resistance Front (TRF) has taken responsibility for this attack through a social media post. Security agencies are investigating this claim. TRF is considered an affiliate of Pakistan-backed terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). There had been a decline in terrorist incidents in the valley in recent months but this attack has once again increased the concern of security agencies.
