On the orders of CM Yogi, Health Department took action against the corrupt principal of Ayodhya Medical College after two weeks.

The Yogi government of UP, adopting a policy of zero tolerance against corruption, had removed Dr. Gyanendra Kumar, Principal of Rajarshi Dashrath Autonomous State Medical College, Ayodhya, from the post on January 2. With this he was attached to the Directorate General of Medical Education. Along with this, Dr. Satyajit Verma was appointed as the new acting Principal of Ayodhya Medical College.

After such a big action against corruption by the Yogi government, the health department is sitting idly by. UP Principal Secretary Medical Education Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma took the trouble to issue a letter against the corruption principal after two weeks. This clearly proves that the Health Department blatantly ignores the orders of the Chief Minister. Whereas Lokayukta investigation is already going on in the corruption case against Dr. Gyanendra Kumar. Apart from this, vigilance investigation is also going on from the Home Department on the orders of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Dr. Gyanendra Kumar, accused in the scam worth several crores in Ayodhya Medical, has a major contribution in taking corruption to its peak.

A three-member committee had investigatedf

There were continuous serious complaints against the Principal of Ayodhya. He has been accused of demanding commission in paying pending bills while not paying for medicines purchased from pre-approved firms, house keeping, biomedical waste, food for patients etc. After the complaint, on May 17, 2024, the government constituted a three-member committee of Finance Controller, Medical Education and Training, Lucknow and Additional District Magistrate (FR), Ayodhya under the chairmanship of Additional Director, Medical Education and Training. The committee conducted the investigation and sent the report to the Lokayukta for decision on 23 September 2024.

The Yogi government took the trouble to issue a letter to UP Principal Secretary Medical Education Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma two weeks later (January 16), flouting its zero tolerance policy against corruption.

In the letter issued by Uttar Pradesh Government Medical Education Section-3, it has been mentioned that the investigation of certain complaints received against Dr. Gyanendra Kumar Principal, Autonomous State Medical College, Ayodhya is underway. In view of the above, till the final decision is taken, Dr. Gyanendra Kumar is attached to the office of Director General, Medical Education and Training, Lucknow. Along with this, Dr. Satyajit Verma, Professor and Head of the Department, General Surgery, Autonomous State Medical College, Ayodhya is hereby given the charge of the post of Principal of Autonomous State Medical College, Ayodhya, till further orders. No additional salary/allowances will be paid to Dr. Satyajit Verma for this work.
