Health department gave reasons
Vector Borne Control Officer Dr. Subhash Chandra Prasad said that side effects may be seen if Albendazole is taken on an empty stomach. If there are worms in the stomach, there may be complaints of vomiting, headache, dizziness or stomach pain. Due to low stamina of children, the effect is more visible. However, this is not a serious condition and improves after some time. Some children did not eat enough before taking the medicine. At the same time, their nervousness had also increased after seeing each other.
Villagers panic, all children safe
Panic spread among the villagers as the health of a large number of children suddenly deteriorated. Block Education Officer Deeva Shri said that 26 and 12 children were affected. The health department team remained present in the hospital till late evening. The condition of all the children is said to be normal at present. Parents were informed about possible common side effects of the medicine. The administration assured that there is no need to panic, all the children are safe.
