Health Tips: People’s health is getting spoiled due to junk food
New Delhi ! The Union Health Ministry has told the Parliament that due to the increasing trend of junk food and processed food in the country, many diseases are increasing. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also last year It has been told in the Lok Sabha that due to the increasing trend of eating junk food and processed food, heart disease, diabetes and liver diseases have continuously increased among the people. The Health Minister has said that ICMR has found this in its research.
The ministry has said that due to such food habits, the amount of fat, sugar and salt in people’s blood increases, which increases the risk of obesity and non-communicable diseases. The Health Minister has said in his statement that due to junk food habit, it has been found that there has been a huge increase in chronic diseases. Due to change in food habits, there has been a huge increase in chronic diseases, according to the study of the ministry, it increased from 30.5% in 1990 to 55.4% by 2016.
Due to unhealthy food, there has been an increase in chronic diseases due to which the risk of metabolic risk factors has increased. To prevent this, FSSAI is strictly asking food processing companies to follow the rules. FSSAI has started strict implementation from 2020 especially on making the food consumed by children balanced. A ban has been imposed on the sale of junk food containing saturated fat, added fat, sugar and sodium at a distance of 50 meters around children’s schools. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandabiya has given all this information in response to a written question in the Lok Sabha.
