Delivery agent attacked teenager – Obnews
On Friday evening, April 3, 2026, a 24-year-old delivery executive allegedly attacked a minor girl with a knife multiple times, leaving her in a critical condition, in East Delhi’s Seemapuri area. A few hours later, the accused died in a suspicious LPG cylinder blast at his home in New Seemapuri, police said.
sequence of events
According to Delhi Police, the man and the teenage girl were neighbours. It is being told that there was some dispute between them before the attack. A PCR call was received at Seemapuri police station at 5:33 pm, informing that a girl was lying unconscious with multiple knife wounds in the Ravidas Mandir street of Old Seemapuri. By the time the police reached the spot, the victim had been taken to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital. Considering the severity of his injuries, doctors declared him unfit to give a statement. His condition still remains critical.
Based on the PCR call, medico-legal report and preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 109 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Justice Code.
While investigating the stabbing incident, another PCR call was received at 6:10 pm, reporting a cylinder blast and fire in a house in New Seemapuri. On reaching the spot, the police found the same 24-year-old man alone inside the house (his mother was not present there). He had suffered serious burn injuries. He was immediately taken to GTB Hospital, where he was declared dead.
details of investigation
It is being told that a lighter was found near the body, and the doors and windows of the house were closed at the time of the incident. Police have linked the two incidents and are investigating whether the blast was an accident or a deliberate suicide attempt. Some reports suggest that the accused may be a jilted stalker, although the exact motive is still under investigation. The parents of both the persons are being interrogated.
The accused worked as a delivery executive for an e-commerce platform and lived with his mother in New Seemapuri. There were no reports of any other injuries or casualties from the blast.
This shocking incident has once again highlighted security concerns in the densely populated residential areas of Delhi. Police have appealed to anyone with information to come forward. Investigation is underway to ascertain the full sequence and motive behind these incidents.
