Heavy rain and lightning alert! Cold will increase till December 17, IMD issues red alert in these states

The weather is about to change once again! India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that cold, fog and rain will continue in many parts of the country in the next few days. Due to the influence of western disturbance, the weather patterns are changing, due to which the cold will increase and there is also a danger of lightning at some places.

Forecast of rain and snowfall in hilly areas

According to IMD, light rain may occur in the Western Himalayan region, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh from December 13 to 17. On December 14, light rain and snowfall in higher altitude areas may also begin in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Rain with thunder in Andaman and Nicobar

Andaman and Nicobar Islands will receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers at isolated places till December 14. Along with this, strong winds will also blow, due to which there will be a danger of lightning.

Cold wave and severe cold continue

It is already bitterly cold in North India. IMD has said that the cold wave may continue in central and eastern-northern peninsular India till December 14. The weather remains extremely cold in Punjab and Haryana.

Cold wave conditions will persist in Central Maharashtra, Marathwada, West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Odisha on 12 and 13 December. At the same time, there will be cold effect in Telangana and North Interior Karnataka from 12 to 14 December.

Fog will also increase people’s problems. Dense fog may occur in the morning in Western Uttar Pradesh on 12th and 13th December and in Eastern Uttar Pradesh from 12th to 14th December. Fog will also affect the northeastern states of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

There is a possibility of dense morning fog in some parts of Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi from 12 to 16 December, in Himachal Pradesh from 12 to 14 December, in Odisha from 12 to 13 December and in Punjab from 13 to 16 December.
