Heavy waiting in trains going to Jammu, confirmed tickets not available even after booking two months in advance
Lucknow, Read It has become difficult for thousands of passengers who dream of traveling with family during summer holidays and having darshan of Maa Vaishno Devi, to get confirmed tickets in trains on many major routes including Jammu and Mumbai. The situation is such that even passengers who book tickets two months in advance are not able to get guaranteed seats.
Long waiting time in major trains going to Jammu has increased the concern of passengers. Seats in trains like Begumpura Express, Koa-Jammu Tawi Express, Himgiri Express, Archana Express and Amarnath Express are full till August 10. Even waiting tickets are not available in many trains. In such a situation, a big crisis has arisen in front of the families who have planned to travel during summer holidays.
Same is the condition of Mumbai route. Tickets are not available till June 30 in most trains including Pushpak Express, Gorakhpur Superfast Express, Udyog Nagari Express, Kushinagar Express and Avadh Express. Passengers say that due to lack of additional arrangements as per the demand of Railways, they are facing a lot of trouble. The most disappointed are children and families, who wait for summer holidays all year long. But due to non-availability of tickets, their travel plans are hanging in the balance. Sarvesh Dixit, a resident of Nirala Nagar, said that he had planned to go to Jammu and had even made hotel and other bookings, but due to non-availability of train tickets, the entire program is getting affected.
Brokers’ activity increased
Brokers are taking advantage of the shortage of tickets. Vikas Jaiswal told that he had to go to Jammu on June 26, but was not getting the ticket. Contacted a broker and he got the third AC ticket for one thousand rupees more. He said that the brokers are charging extra Rs 500 to Rs 1000 in the name of providing confirmed tickets. Despite Railways’ claims of strictness, the activity of brokers does not seem to be decreasing.
