Heinrich Klaasen Outshines Rickelton’s Century as SRH Seal 6-Wicket Win

A brilliant knock from Heinrich Klaasen anchored SRH’s 243-run chase against the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2026 game played on April 29 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

He took charge after the dismissal of the top order and completed the chase. Klaasen’s 65* runs off 30 deliveries included 7 fours and 4 sixes. By this win, Sunrisers Hyderabad went to the third position in the IPL 2026 points table.

After choosing to bat first, Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton opened the innings while Pat Cummins opened the bowling attack.

The duo made a solid start, scoring 78 runs in the power play. However, Will Jacks got dismissed on the first ball of the 8th over from Nitish Kumar Reddy.

He was caught out on an outside off delivery. With a swing in the delivery, Ishan Kishan picks the catch safely behind the wickets.

Suryakumar Yadav came to bat at No.3 and joined Ryan Rickelton aiming for playing a brilliant knock.

In the meantime, Ryan Rickelton smashed his fifty in 23 deliveries which included 5 fours and four sixes.

Eshan Malinga bagged the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav for 5 runs. He got dismissed on a short delivery where Abhishek Sharma take the catch.

Naman Dhir came to bat at No.4 and slowly buidling innings while playing along with Ryan Rickelton.

Praful Hinge bagged the wicket of Naman Dhir for 22 runs. He got dismissed on a slower delivery where Harsh Dubey took the catch at deep mid-wicket.

Hardik Pandya who came to bat went on to score 31 runs. In the meantime, Ryan Rickelton went on to score 44-ball century which included 8 fours and 7 sixes.

Sakib Hussain bagged the wicket of Hardik Pandya as Mumbai Indians lost 4 wickets for 221 runs. He got dismissed on a full and wide delivery where Pandya hit the ball at long off and Klaasen took a safe catch.

Praful Hinge picked the wicket of Tilak Varma for 7 runs on a full and just outside off delivery where he took a shot and Klaasen took the catch at Long off.

With Ryan Rickelton and Robin Minz at crease, Mumbai Indians went on to score 243 runs in their 20 over innings.

Chasing 243 runs, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head opened the innings while Trent Boult opened the bowling attack.

The duo scored 92 runs in the powerplay and continued the slaughter. Head who was out of form in the ongoing season, smashed 20-ball fifty and continued to bat aiming for a big score.

However, Mumbai Indians came into game with three quick dismissals. AM Ghazanfar picked the wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan on consecutive deliveries.

Abhishek Sharma (45) got dismissed after an edge where the ball popped up to the off-side where Boult completes the catch.

Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan got dismissed after being bowled out from Ghazanfar’s delivery. Hardik Pandya bagged the wicket of in form Travis Head for 76 runs. He was sent back to dug out after after Will Jacks take a catch at extra cover.

Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy stitched a partnership steadily moving to the victory before the latter got dismissed by Trent Boult.

In the meantime, Heinrich Klaasen smashed 22-ball fifty and Salil Arora joining the Klaasen, they went on to complete the chase in the 19th over.

Heinrich Klaasen remained unbeaten 65* runs while Salil Arora scored 30 runs as SRH sealed 6-wicket victory.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their next game against Kolkata  Knight Riders on May 03 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad.
