Help will continue despite western crisis, Indian fuel consignment will reach Sri Lanka as emergency aid

Colombo. A combined consignment of 38,000 tonnes of diesel and petrol from India is scheduled to reach Sri Lanka on Saturday. The Indian High Commission gave this information on Friday. The fuel consignment will arrive at Colombo Port as a result of a telephone conversation between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 24. This consignment of 38,000 tonnes includes 20,000 tonnes of diesel and 18,000 tonnes of petrol.

The consignment will arrive here as emergency relief through Lanka IOC (LIOC), the local operation of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC).
