Mumbai Bollywood actress Hema Malini and her daughters (Esha Deol and Ahana Deol) organized a prayer meeting in Delhi on 11 December to honor late actor Dharmendra. Many well-known political personalities like Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Kiren Rijiju, Kangana Ranaut attended this prayer meeting and paid tribute to He-Man. At the prayer meeting, Hema Malini revealed her late husband’s wish which remained unfulfilled.
‘This was his specialty’
Hema Malini said, “Soon, another aspect of Dharmendra ji’s existence came to light when he started writing Urdu poetry. His special thing was that whatever the situation, he would immediately recite a couplet on it. This was his specialty.”
Which unfulfilled wish?
Hema Malini further said with teary eyes, “I also told him many times that if you write so well then you should publish it as a book. You have a lot of fans. If your fans like it, he became very serious. He wanted to do this. He was planning everything, but this dream of his, this work of his remained incomplete.”
Dharmendra’s family
Dharmendra married Prakash Kaur in 1954, with whom he had four children. He married Hema in 1980 and had two daughters. After entertaining people for so many years, the veteran actor left us all on November 24 at the age of 89.
