Hema Malini said- Will do everything for Papa. Clarified on the news of rift spread after Dharmendra’s death.

New Delhi . The demise of veteran Bollywood actor (Dharmendra) left both his family and fans in deep shock. Dharmendra, who died on November 24, 2025 at the age of 89, was posthumously honored at the ‘In Memoriam’ segment of the 79th BAFTA Awards in London last Sunday. The list also included international icons like Val Kilmer, Robert Duvall, Rob Reiner and Tom Stoppard.

On this occasion, Hema Malini shared her feelings while talking to Hindustan Times. He said that this moment was very special and Dharmendra deserved it. He told that Dharmendra was inspiring not only as an actor but also as a human being. Hema Malini said emotionally, ‘There will never be anyone else like him. We are both proud and happy to receive the BAFTA Award.

Hema Malini further said, ‘I cry thinking that he is no longer with us. What we did together is a memory for the audience. Half of my life was spent with him and he was also my life partner. No matter how strong you are, it is possible to break. He also told that all the people who worked with Dharmendra and his spot boys keep coming to him and saying that ‘I miss Saab’.

Recently, the news of rift with Dharmendra’s children Sunny Deol and Bobby was also in the news. But at the screening of ‘Border 2’, Isha and Ahana came in support of their brother Sunny, which put an end to the rumours. On this, Hema Malini clearly said, ‘I will do everything for Papa, be it the children or him. There is no negativity in the family.

Hema also told that Dharmendra had called her to watch the film but she could not go. He said, ‘Dharamji was a source of love, strength and values. Why should we show these moments in public? People should understand that we are all fine.

Regarding films and acting, Hema said that if she gets a good role, she will do it. Recalling her love for Dharmendra, she said that she always wanted her to keep dancing and remain mentally and physically fit. Dharmendra was always proud of preserving traditional Indian arts and Hema shared his vision.
