Seraikela: Chief Minister Hemant Soren reached the Kharsawan martyr site on January 1 and paid emotional tribute to the brave martyrs of the 1948 firing massacre. During this, the Chief Minister made an important announcement and said that on the lines of Guava firing, the government will form a special committee to identify the martyrs and agitators of Kharsawan firing.

CM Hemant Soren clarified that work on this has started and soon those anonymous martyrs, who were till now buried in the pages of history, will be discovered. Emphasizing the importance of the martyr site, the Chief Minister said, ‘Kharsawan martyr site can never be erased from history because the crowd of thousands gathering here is a witness to the fact that even today this place is the biggest center of inspiration for the local tribals and indigenous people’.

Shaheed Park will open for general public
In response to a question, Chief Minister Hemant Soren gave good news to the local people and said that Kharsawan Martyr Sthal Park, which till now remained closed throughout the year, will soon be opened daily for the general public. CM said that to maintain the sanctity and security of the park, it was opened for a limited time but now it will be properly managed and dedicated to the public. On this occasion, many dignitaries including Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Minister Deepak Biruwa, Kharsawan MLA Dashrath Gagrai, Ichagarh MLA Savita Mahato, MP Joba Manjhi, JMM leaders Ganesh Chaudhary and Ganesh Mahali were present. All the leaders paid floral tributes to Shaheed Bedi and paid tribute to the heroes of Jharkhand movement.
