Approval has been given to open 7 open cast and 4 underground mines but the work of environmental clearance and land acquisition has not been completed. His focus will be on starting these projects as soon as possible. These mines have the potential to contain 21.5 million tonnes and 11.5 million tonnes of coal. To increase production, priority will also be given to installation of Continuous Miner Machine. A tender has also been issued to install it in 6 mines.
