Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed displeasure over the action of the Election Commission during the Jharkhand Assembly elections. He has raised questions in the light of the Election Commission's instructions regarding the removal of Deoghar SP through a post on social media platform X.

CM Soren wrote on Wednesday that the Dalit IAS officer was removed and was continuously harassed. Now the tribal IPS officer is being continuously harassed. After all, why does BJP have so much trouble with Dalits and tribals?

The Election Commission of India has directed the Jharkhand government to remove Deoghar Superintendent of Police Ajit Peter Dungdung. The Commission has written a letter to the state government asking for a panel of names of three IPS officers to be posted on the post of Deoghar SP.

Earlier also during the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Election Commission had removed him from election work from Deoghar itself. Action was taken against him on the charges of working in favor of a particular party. After the Lok Sabha elections, he was again posted in Deoghar.
