Davos, Switzerland: During the World Economic Forum (WEF) Davos, the official delegation of Jharkhand government led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren held an important meeting with the top leadership of Tata Steel. During the meeting, Tata Steel reiterated its commitment to invest a total of Rs 11,000 crore in Jharkhand under New Age Green Steel Technology, for which a letter of intent and cooperation agreement were signed.

Tata Steel will make big investment

Under this investment, it is proposed to invest Rs 7,000 crore in Hirsana Easy and Melt Technology, Rs 1,500 crore in Combi Mill Project and Rs 2,600 crore in Tinplate Expansion Project. All these projects will be based on environment-friendly green steel technology, using advanced technologies from Netherlands and Germany.

Hemant Soren has confidence in green industry

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the Jharkhand government is giving top priority to sustainable industrial development, clean technology and local employment generation. This partnership with Tata Steel will play an important role in taking the industrial capacity of the state to new heights as well as making Jharkhand a leading state in green industrial transformation. This investment will not only strengthen the mineral-based industrial ecosystem of the state, but will also accelerate the national goals of green energy and climate-friendly development. Hitachi Company has given its proposal on investment for power, high level gridding and advanced infrastructure.

The Chief Minister was awarded a White Badge by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and a formal letter of cooperation was handed over on behalf of the Chief Minister. The collaboration is based on three key themes in line with WEF’s Centers of Excellence—Critical Minerals and New Energy, and Climate and Biodiversity Conservation. The State Government’s Vision 2050 is broadly in line with WEF’s concept of an inclusive society. Through this partnership, efforts will be made to create a meaningful and long-term partnership in the direction of learning, knowledge exchange and implementation based cooperation.

Investment expected from Sweden also

The results of the official visit of Jharkhand government to Sweden in 2025 have also come to light. Sweden has taken forward talks regarding investment in urban transport. In this regard, a round table meeting will be organized between Sweden and India in April for possible cooperation and investment. In the meeting, the Chief Minister also met Swedish companies with whom he had held talks during his visit to Sweden last year.

Meeting with world women leaders

Met with representatives of the World Women Leaders Forum in which the desire was expressed to establish a collaborative framework with the Government of Jharkhand to empower women political leadership, especially women from marginalized sections. Besides, a proposal was also made to establish an India Chapter and form a common and non-partisan forum for women representatives of all political parties, in which dialogue, capacity building and cooperation would be promoted.
