Hero-Harley’s Blast; Lots of new cars to hit the market, including entry-level performance bikes!

The partnership between Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp is now entering a major phase. Under this partnership, many premium bikes will be launched in India and there are plans to export the bikes abroad as well. American brand ‘Harley-Davidson’ will use Hero’s manufacturing capabilities and distribution network to build a larger range of entry-level motorcycles and cruiser bikes for the Indian market and internationally.

The new launch cycle is likely to start with the bike ‘Harley-Davidson Sprint’ by the end of the current financial year. The bikes coming after the ‘Sprint’ will be available in the premium category at different price ranges. After production starts in India, some of these models will also be sold overseas for the first time.

The plant in Rajasthan will be an important focal point

The plant can manufacture high-capacity motorcycles for Harley-Davidson and new models jointly developed by the two companies. Manufacturing in India will help Harley-Davidson keep prices low in the global market, while Hero’s network will make it easier to reach customers.

The partnership has previously launched the ‘Harley-Davidson X440’ and Hero brand’s ‘Maverick 440’, which received good customer response. Recently ‘Harley-Davidson X440T’ has also joined this fleet.

Although Hero currently lags behind Royal Enfield and Bajaj Auto in the segment, it has laid a solid foundation for upcoming premium bikes.

Harley’s New Innings After Global Decline

Between 2019 and 2025, Harley-Davidson’s sales in the global market fell by 40 percent. So this is Harley’s attempt to increase global sales by bringing budget and performance bikes for common people instead of just relying on expensive bikes.
