Hero Super Splendor XTEC 2.0: New Splendor comes with Bluetooth and LED light, know

Hero Super Splendor XTEC 2.0: Come on brother, today let’s talk about the elder brother of the king of commuter bikes – Splendor. We all know that when someone in India wants a bike that will last for generations, the first name that comes to mind is Splendor.

But times are changing and now the youth want not only mileage but also style and features. Recognizing this pulse, Hero MotoCorp has launched its new bet in the market – Hero Super Splendor XTEC 2.0.

Leaving aside the boring list of features of this bike, let’s understand it from the perspective of a true friend: 3 big features that will make you crazy about it and 2 shortcomings that will make you stop at the showroom and think.

3 great features: Why this bike should be your first choice?

1. For the first time, fully-digital console and Bluetooth (a splash of tech) That dull looking analog meter of the old Super Splendor is now history. In XTEC 2.0, the company has given a fully-digital LCD instrument cluster.

  • As soon as the phone is connected to Bluetooth, you will start seeing call and SMS alerts on the screen.
  • ‘Real-time mileage’ is also visible in it, that is, you will be able to know while moving how much oil your bike is drinking.
  • Apart from this, the company has provided a USB charging port right next to the meter, so that your phone never gets switched off during the journey.

2. Father of Mileage and ‘i3S’ Technology

Despite being in the 125cc segment, this bike is not at all heavy on the pocket. Hero claims that this bike comfortably delivers a mileage of 60 to 65 km per litre. The i3S (Idle Stop-Start System) technology installed in it saves you a lot of money in traffic. As soon as you park the car in neutral at a red light, the engine will stop automatically within 5 seconds, and will start again as soon as you press the clutch. That is, a complete accounting of every single drop of oil!

3. Now got the king of the night – LED headlamp

The biggest and beautiful change of this bike is its new LED headlamp. The yellow halogen bulbs of old bikes used to die on the highway in the dark of night. But with the introduction of this new high-intensity LED light and H-Shaped LED DRL, night traveling has not only become safe, but the look of the bike also looks quite sporty and modern.

2 Drawbacks: What you should know before visiting the showroom

Hero Super Splendor XTEC 2.0

1. Slight vibrations at highway speeds

It has a 124.7 cc single-cylinder engine, which runs like butter in city traffic. You will not have any complaints at speeds of 40 to 60 km/hr. But as soon as you try to accelerate it above 80 km/hr on the highway, you will start feeling slight vibrations on the footpegs and handle bar. This is a pure commuter bike, not for racing.

2. Rear drum brake only (no disc option in base)

For safety reasons, the company has given the option of disc brake in its front, but in its base variant you will have to be satisfied with drum brakes on both the wheels. Although it does have a Combined Braking System (CBS), which engages both when one brake is applied, at least a disc option should have been standard these days.
