Hezbollah Chief: Agreement between Iran and America a big victory, thanked Iran for stopping Israel

Lebanon’s Hezbollah chief Sheikh Naim Qassim has thanked Iran. He said that Israel had to stop its military action because of Iran’s support. All this has happened after a big agreement between Iran and America.

Agreement signed between Iran and America

Iranian President Masoud Pezheshkian and US President Donald Trump digitally signed the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ (MoU) on the morning of June 18, 2026. The main objective of this agreement was to end the regional war. Pakistan played the role of mediator in this entire diplomatic process.

Sheikh Naim Qasim sent a message to the Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. He said Iran’s strong stance and effective support helped Lebanon and its people. Due to this support, Israel had to immediately and permanently stop its military actions on all fronts including Lebanon.

Big victory and the future of Lebanon

Qasim described the agreement between Iran and Washington as a ‘big victory’ for Iran. He called it a turning point for Lebanon. He appealed to Lebanon to take advantage of this opportunity to completely expel Israel from Lebanese soil.

Hezbollah’s stance on talks

The Hezbollah chief made it clear that any talks between Lebanon and Israel should be limited to ‘mutual security’ only. He rejected any proposal to give up weapons and called it a ploy by Israel. He advised Lebanese officials not to enter into direct negotiations with Israel.

Statement from the President of Lebanon

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun expressed his different opinion. He said that his talks with Israel in Washington are independent of this regional agreement. He made it clear that any interference in Lebanon’s internal affairs would not be accepted, although he welcomed assistance from other countries, including Iran.
