High alert in Kuwait, National Guard increased vigil, big step by government after drone attacks
The government has become very strict regarding security in Kuwait. The National Guard has now issued a high alert so that any external threat can be dealt with immediately. Lieutenant General Hamad Al-Barjas himself took stock of all the security positions and asked the soldiers to be fully prepared.

Why did Kuwait National Guard issue high alert?
This step has been taken in view of the increasing tension and security challenges in the area. There have been many drone attacks in the recent past. On 25 and 28 March 2026, 6 drones were shot down. After this, on April 5, two drones and a pilotless aircraft were caught. On April 9 and 10, there were drone attacks on some important targets which caused some material damage but no one was injured. For this reason, the highest level of vigilance has now been implemented.
Is there any risk of radioactive leakage?
The National Guard assured the public on March 25 and April 3, 2026, that there had been no radioactive leakage into the atmosphere or ocean. The government is monitoring the infrastructure in collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Citizens and expatriates were advised not to panic in case of any emergency and stay indoors with windows and doors closed.
