High blood pressure is no longer a disease of old age, it is becoming a silent killer for office workers too.

In today’s fast-paced life, stress has now become a common problem, which is gradually turning into a serious health hazard. Earlier high blood pressure was considered a disease of ageing, but now it is increasing rapidly in youth of 20 to 30 years, office workers and students also.

According to experts, during stress, the body goes into “fight or flight” mode, due to which both heart rate and blood pressure increase. Hypertension often causes harm to the body without any obvious symptoms, which is why it is also called the “silent killer”.

Doctors say that during times of stress, cortisol hormone increases in the body, due to which the heart beats faster and the blood vessels contract. This condition can cause permanent high blood pressure if there is continuous stress. Late night work, excessive mobile use and financial pressure also affect sleep, disrupting the body’s recovery process.

Experts say that bad lifestyle like junk food, smoking and lack of exercise make this problem more serious. Doctors recommend that regular exercise, adequate sleep, reducing screen time and maintaining mental balance are very important for heart health.
