High Court bans the release of The Kerala Story 2: Said- Censor Board did not apply its brain

Kochi : The Kerala High Court on Thursday granted an interim stay on the release of film ‘The Kerala Story 2-Goes Beyond’, saying prima facie it appeared that the Censor Board had not exercised discretion while certifying the film.

Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas passed the order while hearing two petitions challenging the release of the film. The film was scheduled to release on 27 February.

The court in its order also said that the guidelines laid down by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to ensure that a film does not disturb social harmony were not followed.
