High level meeting at Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s residence in NEET paper leak case

New Delhi. Amid the nationwide uproar over the leak of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) paper for admission to medical colleges, a high-level meeting was held on Thursday at the residence of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in which a comprehensive discussion was held on conducting the examination.

According to sources, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, National Testing Agency Director General Abhishek Singh and senior officials of the Prime Minister’s Office participated in the meeting. It is being told that in the meeting there was intense discussion regarding the upcoming NEET exam for about 40 minutes. Sources said that the main objective of the meeting was to address the concerns raised among students and parents after the sudden cancellation of NEET exam and to work towards restoring the credibility of the examination process. It is believed that the authorities are also considering taking strict action against those found guilty in this alleged leak case. In this matter, which has affected lakhs of medical aspirants across the country, the National Investigation Agency had canceled the examination held on May 3. This is the first time that the National Medical Entrance Examination in its current form has been canceled across the country. The agency had announced that after reviewing the inputs received from central agencies and investigation reports shared by law enforcement officials, it has been decided to re-conduct the exam on June 21.
