Not only the visuals of the video in this social media post, but also the content was offensive. Phrases such as “point blank shoot”, “no mercy” and “no apology to Bangladeshis” were used. Moreover, in the video “Why didn’t you go to Pakistan?” Questions were also asked, which are believed to directly incite hatred and violence against a particular community.
As soon as the video went viral on social media, there was widespread protest. Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Sagarika Ghosh termed the ad “very shameful” and demanded immediate arrest of those responsible. He tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and called for strict action.
Dear Prime Minister,
Your beloved Chief Minister who is shooting directly at the chest of Muslims in his election advertisement is actually shooting at the chest of the Constitution, such a shot was fired by Godse at the chest of Mahatma Gandhi.

Many netizens have said that sharing such content spreads hatred in the society and casts doubt on the behavior of the country’s top leadership. The criticism and outcry from netizens was so intense that the BJP eventually had to delete their controversial tweet, but by then, screenshots and video clips had gone viral on the internet.

There is also talk in political circles that such provocative videos are deliberately released to divert attention from the real issues. Several users on social media wrote that BJP’s IT cell is trying to distract people with such hateful videos when the state is suffering from serious problems like floods, unemployment and rising inflation.
Opposition leaders say such statements are a deliberate strategy to marginalize Assam’s socially and economically disadvantaged Muslims of Bengali origin, who, despite having Indian citizenship, are often labeled as “outsiders” or “illegal immigrants”.
