Hindustan Unilever Limited: Earning season is going on in the stock market. Companies are announcing their quarterly results. FMCG major Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) on Wednesday announced its financial results for the second quarter of financial year 2024-25.

FMCG major Hindustan Unilever (HUL) on Wednesday reported a 4% decline in its standalone net profit for the quarter ending September 2024 at Rs 2,612 crore from Rs 2,717 crore in the same quarter a year ago.

Revenue from operating profit stood at Rs 15,319 crore in the reported quarter, which is 2% higher than Rs 15,027 crore reported in the same quarter of the last financial year.

The company declared an interim dividend of Rs 29 per share for its investors. The record date for this has been fixed as 6th November and the dividend will be paid to the eligible shareholders on 21st November.

The dividend was announced along with its second quarter results, in which the Lifebuoy and Dove maker reported a 4% decline in its net profit at Rs 2,612 crore. This profit was slightly less than market estimates.

Revenue from operations during the period under review grew by 2% year-on-year to Rs 15,027 crore. HUL registered a growth of 3% in the second quarter of the current financial year. EBITDA margin remained healthy at 23.8%.

Home Care grew 8% due to UVG volume growth. The growth in both fabric wash and household care was broad based. The company said in its quarterly results that the liquid portfolio continued to perform well with strong double-digit volume growth.

“We continued to strengthen our liquids segment with the expansion of Rin Liquid and entered the floor cleaner market with an improved product under the Vim brand. The market growth journey in fabric enhancers was boosted by the launch of comfort beads,” it said.

The Beauty & Wellbeing segment grew 7% (reported 1%), while UVG grew in the mid single digits. Hair Care continued its growth and grew in high single digits due to better performance in Sunsilk, Dove and TRESemmé.
