His focus is only on airing… Now on whom is Yograj Singh angry?

Yuvraj Singh’s father Yograj Singh has again come into limelight with his frank statement. This time Yograj has given a strong voice to Abhishek Sharma. Yograj, who played 1 Test and 6 ODIs for the Indian team, says that Abhishek’s attention has deviated from cricket. He strongly advised the young batsman to remain disciplined. According to Yograj, young players are failing due to fanfare.

‘This boy makes reels…’

Abhishek was recently out for three consecutive ducks in the T20 World Cup 2026. He showed signs of returning to form by scoring a half-century against Zimbabwe in the Super-8 but then he lost his rhythm. In the entire T20 World Cup, only one innings came from his bat, which he played against New Zealand in the final.

Yograj believes that he is not focusing on cricket, due to which his bat remained calm in the T20 World Cup. Yograj said in a conversation with Inside Sport, ‘You fail because your mind is somewhere else. Shubhman Gill, what’s happening with Abhishek? Failure comes only when your attention gets distracted somewhere else. This is what is happening with Abhishek. This guy keeps making reels which is not his job. He should go to bed by 9 pm, wake up at 5 am and play a thousand balls.

‘Abhishek makes the mistake of taking the game lightly’

Yograj further said that many players nowadays get entangled in parties, social media, money and other things more than cricket. This is where they are making a mistake. He said, ‘It will take another era for him (Abhishek) to reach anywhere near Yuvraj Singh. The whole universe runs on discipline. Cricketers should work like this. Where are the cricketers going wrong? Parties, girls, money, shooting all the time.

He further said, ‘I am very disappointed with him. At one time I used to message him that do not take this game lightly. He will always say – Yes Sir. There is such a thing as single, double, and boundary. You can’t hit the ball in the air all the time. You can’t always keep hitting sixes to entertain the crowd.
