Jammu and Kashmir captured the Ranji Trophy for the first time by playing a draw against Karnataka in the final played in Bengaluru. After making a strong score of 584 runs in the first innings, Karnataka were bundled out for 293. Declared after scoring 342 runs after losing 4 wickets in the second innings, thus becoming champions with the lead of the first innings.
This victory is a symbol of the patient campaign of Jammu and Kashmir. Lord of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar wrote on X that the journey from Kashmir Willow to becoming champions was very beautiful. Auqib Nabi’s bowling showed wonders in difficult matches. Congratulations to the entire team, coach and staff.
Mohammad Kaif said that this moment will fill the players with enthusiasm. Captaincy of Paras Dogra, bowling of Auqib Nabi, hard work of players like Shubham Pundir, Yawar Hasan, Kamran Iqbal are commendable.
