Ho Chi Minh City to close over 20 central roads for New Year Eve fireworks
Under the plan to welcome the New Year 2026, the city will stage high-altitude fireworks displays at three locations: the Saigon River tunnel entrance in An Khanh Ward; Binh Duong New City in the center of the former Binh Duong Province; and Tam Thang Square along Bai Sau (Back Beach) in Vung Tau Ward.
Several low-altitude fireworks displays will also be held, including at Dam Sen Cultural Park in Binh Thoi Ward and the Saigon Marina IFC Tower in Sai Gon Ward. In addition to fireworks, a range of cultural, art, and entertainment programs are scheduled throughout the city on New Year’s Eve.
To maintain public order and ease congestion as large crowds gather, all vehicles will be prohibited from more than 20 central streets from 9 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. on Jan. 1. Affected roads include Le Loi Street (Pasteur–Dong Khoi), Nguyen Hue Street (Le Thanh Ton–Ton Duc Thang), Dong Khoi Street (Mac Thi Buoi–Ton Duc Thang), and Ton Duc Thang Street (Le Duan–Khanh Hoi Bridge).
