Holi 2026 Gift: You will get free gas cylinder on Holi, big announcement of Yogi government, know who will get the benefit and the method of application

News India Live, Digital Desk: The colors of Holi are going to be even darker, because the Uttar Pradesh government, keeping its election promise, has announced to provide free gas cylinders to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). About 1.75 crore families of the state will get direct benefits from this initiative of the government. Who are eligible for this scheme? (Eligibility Criteria) Some important conditions have to be fulfilled to avail the free gas cylinder: Ujjwala Yojana Beneficiaries: This benefit will be available only to those families who are already registered under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Aadhaar Linking (e-KYC): It is mandatory for the beneficiary’s bank account and LPG connection to be linked to Aadhaar. Also, e-KYC of the consumer must be complete. Resident of UP: This special scheme is currently effective only for residents of Uttar Pradesh. How to avail the benefit? (Process of Getting Free Cylinder)This scheme works on rebate model. The process is as follows:Book the cylinder: The beneficiary must first book the cylinder from his/her gas agency and pay the full price. Subsidy money: Within a few days of the delivery of the cylinder, the central government subsidy and the additional amount given by the state government will be returned directly to the beneficiary’s bank account (DBT).Two cylinders annually: The Uttar Pradesh government returns the amount of free cylinder twice a year (one on Holi and one on Diwali).Application and required documentsIf you If you are a beneficiary of Ujjwala Yojana, then you do not need to apply separately. Just make sure that: Your e-KYC process is complete. Your mobile number is updated with the gas agency. If you want to join as a new beneficiary, you can apply by visiting the official PMUY Portal. Caution: Avoid fraudsters! Many fake links are going viral on social media which may ask for your personal information in the name of ‘free cylinder’.
