Holi2026: Along with playing with colors, eye protection is also important, take care of your eyes in this way…

Holi is a festival of colours, happiness and belongingness. As much fun as it is to play with gulal and colors on this day, it is equally important to take care of the safety of your eyes. Eyes are the most sensitive part of the body, hence it is very important to protect them from chemical colors. Today we will tell you some easy solutions which can help you in keeping your eyes safe.

must wear glasses

Wear sunglasses or transparent glasses while playing Holi. This will prevent the colors from going directly into the eyes.

avoid contact lenses

If you wear contact lenses, do not wear them on Holi. Colors can get trapped under the lenses, increasing the risk of infection.

apply oil or cream around the eyes

Before playing Holi, apply coconut oil or any moisturizer around the eyes. Due to this the color will not stick to the skin and will be easily cleaned.

Stay away from chemical colors

If possible, use herbal or organic colors. Natural colors are relatively safe for eyes and skin.

Do not rub your eyes frequently

If color gets into the eyes, do not panic and do not rub the eyes. This may increase the irritation further.

rinse immediately with clean water

In case of color, wash the eyes immediately with clean and cold water. If irritation persists, contact a doctor.

Use of eye drops (as per doctor’s advice)

If needed, lubricating eye drops recommended by the doctor can be used.

When to go to the doctor?

  1. There is continuous severe burning or pain.
  2. Appear blurry.
  3. There is swelling or excessive redness.
  4. Yellow or green discharge comes from the eyes.
