Home Minister Amit Shah called Farooq Abdullah after the attack, former CM told about the incident

New Delhi. Today is his first reaction after the attack on National Conference President Farooq Abdullah. While talking to the media on Thursday, he said that, I was coming out of the wedding ceremony when I heard a loud noise. I was brought to the car, after which I was told that a person was with a pistol and he had fired two bullets. He says, I do not know that person nor do I have any information about him.

During this, he praised the National Security Guard (NSG) and police personnel. He said that he has no words to express what the soldiers did in his defence. He also told that many important personalities were present at this wedding ceremony, but no policeman was deployed at that time.

Farooq Abdullah said that, after this incident, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to him on phone and inquired about his well-being. Along with this, assurance was given to investigate the matter. Also said that, if there is an atmosphere of hatred in the society these days, such incidents can happen but no religion teaches hatred, only love.

Meanwhile, the police have detained one accused. He was caught after allegedly trying to shoot Farooq Abdullah with a loaded pistol at a wedding ceremony in Royal Park in Greater Kailash area. According to the police, the NSG personnel deployed for the security of Farooq Abdullah showed promptness and controlled the attacker and foiled the assassination attempt.
