Home Minister Amit Shah urges people to carry out this exercise amid geopolitical tensions and uncertainty

As global tensions and conflicts persist in various regions, leaders and spiritual organisations are urging masses to take part in the collective chanting of the Navkar Mantra for the welfare and peace of the world on World Navkar Mahamantra Day. This message has gained traction amid ongoing geopolitical challenges and calls for harmony.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the initiative at a major event in New Delhi organised by the Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), calling the chanting “most fitting in times of war” and highlighting its significance for global peace and unity. He congratulated the organisers and participants for coming together on April 9 to chant the sacred mantra for world welfare and harmony.

Across India and in international venues, community groups, temples, and spiritual organisations held scheduled recitations of the Navkar Mantra, aligning with the global initiative. In Koderma, followers joined a simultaneous mass chanting alongside participants from 108 countries, reaffirming the mantra’s universal appeal and the aim of spreading positive energy and peace.

In Hubballi, a special programme took place under the guidance of saints and spiritual leaders, where devotees gathered to chant the Navkar Mantra and seek spiritual calm and collective wellbeing. The event emphasised that the mantra’s recitation goes beyond religious identity and is intended for the benefit of all humanity.

The Navkar Mantra, a revered invocation in Jain tradition, honours spiritual virtues such as inner peace, humility, and non‑violence. Organisers of the day’s events said that chanting the mantra en masse sends a powerful message of unity, calm, and compassion at a time when divisions and conflicts define many parts of the world.

This initiative follows annual observances that have seen widespread participation in past years, with tens of thousands chanting the mantra together in cities and communities to promote harmony and mutual respect. Organisers hope that the 2026 events will strengthen global solidarity and foster a shared commitment to peace.
