The trailer for the final season of The Boys has been released offering the first look at the explosive conclusion of the hit superhero drama.
Amazon Prime Video confirmed the fifth and final season will begin streaming on April 8 with two episodes. The series finale is scheduled to drop on May 20.
The new footage shows Homelander tightening his grip on power as chaos spreads across the country.
At one point the powerful Supe is seen sitting inside the White House while surrounded by bloodshed signaling his growing control.
According to the official synopsis the world is now “Homelander’s world” ruled by his unpredictable and egomaniacal decisions.
Meanwhile the group known as the Boys faces major setbacks.
Hughie, Mother’s Milk and Frenchie are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp” while Annie attempts to build a resistance against the powerful Supes.
Kimiko is missing adding to the uncertainty surrounding the group’s future. The situation changes when Butcher returns with a dangerous plan.
He is prepared to use a virus capable of wiping out every Supe, a move that could alter the world forever. Season 4 ended in July 2024 with a dramatic political twist.
A newly elected US president imposed martial law effectively putting Homelander in charge of the country.
Most of the Boys were captured by the end of the season except for Butcher and Annie who regained their Starlight powers and began recruiting students from the spin-off series Gen V.
Season 5 will mark the end of the long-running show bringing the violent superhero saga to its final chapter.
