But peanut butter available in the market often contains preservatives, excess sugar and palm oil, which are not good for health. With the help of this special recipe of Zee News, you can prepare ‘cafe style’ peanut butter at home in just 10 minutes. It is not only cheap but also tastes amazing.
Ingredients:
Groundnut: 2 cups (raw or roasted)
Honey or Jaggery: 1-2 tbsp (to sweeten, optional)
Salt: a pinch (to enhance taste)
Oil: 1 tablespoon (peanut oil or coconut oil, if needed)
Step-by-step recipe for making peanut butter:
1. Roasting Peanuts: If you have taken raw peanuts, then fry them in a pan on low flame for 5-7 minutes till they crackle and give off aroma. After roasting, let it cool and remove the peel.
2. Start of Grinding: Now put the roasted peanuts in a food processor or high-powered blender. Stir it for 1-2 minutes. It will look powdery at first, but don’t worry, keep stirring.
3. Pay attention to texture: After some time, the peanuts will start releasing their natural oil and it will start becoming like a paste. During this, stop the mixer from time to time and use a spoon to remove the peanuts stuck at the edges in the middle.
4. Mix the ingredients: When the paste becomes slightly smooth, add a pinch of salt and honey (or jaggery). If you want a very creamy texture, you can add a spoonful of oil, otherwise the peanut’s own oil is sufficient.
5. Final Touch: Blend it until you get the desired creamy texture. If you like ‘crunchy’ peanut butter, add a little crushed roasted peanuts at the end.
How to store:
Store the prepared peanut butter in a clean glass jar. You can easily use it in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 months.
