Honda Tapukara Plant: Honda’s big investment in Rajasthan, new production line will give new impetus to mobility sector
Honda Expansion: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is expanding its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan’s Alwar district to meet the growing demand for two-wheelers in India. The company will set up a third new production line here, which will have an annual capacity of 6,70,000 units. With this expansion, the total production capacity of this second plant will increase to 20.1 lakh units annually.
2000 new employment opportunities
This new initiative will greatly strengthen the industrial sector of Rajasthan. This expansion project of Honda will create direct and indirect employment opportunities for more than 2,000 people in the area. This move will open new avenues of growth for the local youth and further develop the automotive ecosystem of the region.
CM Bhajanlal Sharma appreciated
Rajasthan Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma has welcomed this investment. He said that Rajasthan is becoming a preferred destination for world class manufacturing. This expansion of Honda will not only increase production capacity, but will also significantly contribute to the economic growth and innovation of the state.
New line will start by 2028
This new production line at Tapukara is planned to be fully operational by the year 2028. Apart from this, the company is also adding its fourth line at Vithalapur plant in Gujarat, which will be operational by 2027. HMSI currently operates four plants in India with a total annual capacity of 62.5 lakh units.

Tsutsumu Otani, President and CEO of HMSI, said that India is in a mobility transition and Honda is committed to safe and accessible mobility. Strengthening the production ecosystem in Tapukara is a major step towards making the supply chain resilient and future-ready.
