Honda launches India's first 300cc flex-fuel bike

Delhi Delhi. Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has introduced the 2024 CB300F flex-fuel, India's first 300cc flex-fuel bike. Priced at Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new model can run on E85 fuel, which is a mixture of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent petrol. The launch supports India's move towards green energy solutions in the automotive sector.

2024 Honda CB300F flex-fuel price and rivals

The 2024 Honda CB300F flex-fuel is available at Rs 1.70 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which matches the price of its petrol-only variant. The bike comes in two colours: Sports Red and Matte Axis Gray Metallic. Bookings have started at Honda Big Wing dealerships across India.

Although the CB300F flex-fuel has no direct competition in the 250-300cc flex-fuel segment, it takes on 300cc bikes like the Suzuki Gixxer 250, KTM Duke 250 and Honda's own CB300F and CB300R. Other options include Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z and Royal Enfield Classic 350.

2024 Honda CB300F flex-fuel engine and performance

The 2024 CB300F flex-fuel features a 293.52cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which is compatible with E85 fuel. It delivers 24.8PS at 7,500rpm and 25.9Nm at 5,500rpm, which is slightly better performance than the standard CB300F. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

A special feature of the bike is the 'Intelligent Ethanol Indicator', which alerts the rider if the ethanol content in the fuel exceeds 85 percent. This ensures a seamless flex-fuel experience.

Design and invariant elements

The new CB300F flex-fuel retains the same attractive and sharp design language as the petrol-powered model. It includes features like LCD instrument console, traction control and all-LED lighting setup. The suspension system of the bike includes gold-finished inverted fork and five-stage adjustable monoshock, along with dual-channel ABS for better safety.
